Good advice on selecting a qualified solar panel installer

Click on the link below to read "Choosing Your RE Installer", a recent Home Power Magazine article with good advice on what to look for when selecting a professional installer for your PV system.

In some ways, a PV system is similar to a home heating system. Both are technically complex systems sold to a homeowner who is not expected to understand the technology, but expects it to work well. Just as you would carefully select an installer for a new heating system, so should you select carefully your PV installer.

Designing and installing a mediocre system is easy. Designing and installing a high-performance system is not. There are many ways to offer a lower-priced system by cutting corners on installation, and little way for a homeowner to tell the difference in quality. The penalty may show up in reduced performance, safety hazards, and premature component failure.

A company's reputation is especially important in this field. This is especially important as new companies enter the field, with varying degrees of experience and skill. Word-of-mouth referrals (the main source of our customers), years in business, national installer certification, and customer testimonials all are superior ways to select the company that will design and install your system.

You may check our NABCEP certification here [www.nabcep.org] and you may read independent reviews of our work by our customers here at Solar Estimate.org.
