NMSEA PV Classes
NMSEA SOLAR ELECTRICITY CLASSES
New Mexico Solar Energy Association (NMSEA) has scheduled its next Photovoltaic Design (3 days, $500) and PV Design and Installation (5 days, $750) classes for late October, early November, 2011. The classes will be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico at Santa Fe Girls School.. The Design class will be held October 28-30 (Fri-Sat-Sun). Design and Installation students will continue through the weekend of November 5-6 (Sat-Sun). NMSEA Members receive a discount on the class.

PHOTOVOLTAIC (PV) DESIGN CLASS
3-Day Class
Dates: October 28-30, 2011 (Fri-Sat-Sun)
Instructors: Randy Sadewic and Marlene Brown
Tuition: $500 per person; NMSEA members - $485 (NMSEA Members have preferential registration until Thursday, September 22.)

Description: Are you interested in learning more about solar electricity? Would you like to learn about siting, sizing and designing a PV system? Topics to be covered include photovoltaic components, designing and sizing a system, siting, and the configuration of stand-alone (off-grid) and grid-tie (utility-connected) systems. Safety and energy efficiency will also be covered. The class will be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico at Santa Fe Girls School.
This class is particularly good for certified electricians who are comfortable with installation skills, homeowners who'd like to talk knowledgeably with installers, job seekers who are interested in the industry but won't seek installation positions, and students considering renewable energy careers.
Electricians who complete the class will receive continuing education units through CID.

PHOTOVOLTAIC (PV) DESIGN AND INSTALLATION CLASS
5-Day Class (three days of classroom and two days of hands-on installation)
Dates: October 28-30, November 5-6, 2011 (Fri-Sat-Sun-Sat-Sun)

Tuition: $750 per person; NMSEA members - $725 (NMSEA Members have preferential registration until Thursday, September 22.)

Description: This class includes the PV Design class and an actual installation on the second weekend. Practical techniques are included in the focus on a safe, code-compliant installation. The design and installation portions will be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico at Santa Fe Girls School. Maximum: 20 students.
This class is particularly good for certified electricians who are interested in the hands-on component as well as the classroom information. It is good for homeowners who are considering installing their own systems as well as students and job seekers who are interested in fieldwork.
Electricians who complete the class will receive continuing education units through CID.
